When will I be able to see the final results of the surgery?

Most inflammation and swelling disappear after 2 to 3 weeks. However, the final results of orthognathic surgery are not seen until the tissues have completely healed, which can take between 6 and 12 months.

The duration of orthognathic surgery varies depending on the complexity of the case, but generally ranges between 2 and 4 hours. In more complex cases, surgery can last up to 6 hours or more.

Most patients experience mild to moderate pain after orthognathic surgery. The pain is usually controllable with medication.
